Artist's Statement
I want to tell stories with light and shadow. As a child I would borrow my mom's VHS-C camcorder and make sketch comedy videos and stop motion animations. This would spark an interest in the moving image that would haunt me to this day. Four years ago I gave up a lucrative career as a journeyman electrician to pursue my love of visual storytelling.
My end goal is not to make an image, but to tell a story. I craft the elements that will communicate to the audience a feeling. An emotion. A connection. Film is a language, and I want to speak it fluently. I want each scene to tell the story of the film, each shot to tell the story of a scene. My canvas is a screen, my brush a light bulb, and I want to to paint each and every frame to tell its own tale. I want to use 130,000 photographs stacked on top of each other for dramatic intent. I want to speak this language of light and shadow, because it's a language that the whole world understands.
